Hmmm

Never have I ever wanted to just eat chocolate! Seriously, it’s not one of my favorite things. I’m never the person to pick the chocolate anything. But guess what I’ve been eating a lot of? I’ve been passing up my beloved Runts for M&Ms, and last night Joe and I went to Maverick to fulfill our snack craving and I got a Kit Kat, Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups, Hershey’s Cookies & Cream bar, and an Almond Joy. And before you think anything about all that candy I got, I did not eat it all last night. In fact I only had half of the Almond Joy! And okay I just finished eating my KitKat! Gotta love the pregnancy cravings! And by the way, I had a doctor’s appointment this morning. I’ll be 28 weeks tomorrow, and everything is great. Champ and I are both healthy and the doc says that I look good “Not too big!” is what he really said after he measured my belly. 25cm. And I’ve only gained a totally of 8lbs since I’ve been prego, which apparently is just fine to him, and really surprises me with all the chicken nuggets I ate in the beginning and all the chocolate and ice cream I have been eating J Speaking of food…if you know me, you know I love my Dr. Pepper. I have to admit that since I’ve been pregnant I haven’t had a sip of it. I could say that’s what I gave up for lent but that would be cheating!

25 neat things about being pregnant - I thought it was cute!

1. You're guaranteed to stop traffic whenever you cross the street.

2. People look at your stomach and can't help smiling, as if the mere thought of your being pregnant has actually made their day a little bit brighter.

3. You can eat a whole pint of chocolate-chunk ice cream and not feel guilty. Every night.

4. You can -- no, you must! --take naps. Lots of them.

5. Getting to name another human being.

6. Watching your husband turn into a father when he kisses your belly good night, reads to the baby in utero, or stays up until 3:00 a.m. putting the crib together -- just in case the baby decides to come eight weeks early.

7. Sex: For once in your life, you're neither worried about getting pregnant nor trying to get pregnant. You can have sex just for the pure fun of it.

8. Buying a bathing suit. It's not about hiding your flaws; it's about flaunting your belly.

9. Those wild, intense, amazing pregnancy dreams in which every remote person from your past makes some sort of appearance. None of these dreams can even begin to be analyzed or understood.

10. The amazing anticipation. It's like all your previous birthdays and holidays rolled into one.

11. Imagining the possibilities.

12. More personal space! And you have no qualms about claiming it.

13. You eat healthier, drink more water, and carefully read ingredient labels. Suddenly, it matters more to you what you put in your body.

14. In the middle of a boring meeting at work or a meaningless argument, you feel your baby squirming inside you and the sensation takes you away. It's your own secret communication.

15. Getting to hear the swish swish swish of your baby's heartbeat on the Doppler.

16. Playing "Guess the part sticking out," usually at bedtime, when your baby starts moving furniture around or whatever it is he does in there.

17. The extra attention you get from everyone -- your husband gives you more foot rubs, and your friends call to check in more often. Neighbors offer to help; coworkers volunteer to get lunch for you; little presents (a bottle of water, an afternoon snack) mysteriously show up on your desk.

18. The pregnancy beauty package: thick, silky hair; long, strong nails; beautiful skin; big boobs.

19. Getting to skip to the front of the line in public rest rooms.

20. Shopping for a person you haven't met yet: tiny clothes, all-new furniture, and adorable room decorations.

21. Dreaming about the first time someone calls you "Mommy" and the first time you hear someone call your husband "Daddy."

22. Baby showers! They remind you how special your friends and family think you are.

23. A continuous sense of accomplishment. You can answer "What did you do today?" with cool things like "I made ears" or simply "I'm making a person. What did you do?"

24. Spending immeasurable amounts of time trying to remember all those nursery rhymes, children's songs, and lullabies.

25. Knowing that all the bad stuff -- the heartburn, swollen ankles, backaches, and the rest -- doesn't last forever. And that in the end, it's all worth it.

27 Weeks

Everyday we talk about how excited we are to meet our little guy. And I feel very blessed that we have so many amazing people in our lives that Champ will get to know. He will have one AMAZING Daddy to be around, who by the way is completely stoked to bring him home. Champ also has two very excited doggies that I know will be so stoked to lick his little face! He has a handful of grandparents that are excited for his arrival, and he is going to have some amazing aunts and uncles, and cousins. And we can’t forget about our amazing friends!

So since I’ve been pregnant I’ve never in my life dropped so much down my shirt…let me rephrase…so much food. Its not that I eat like an oinker but I’m just not used to this cleavage! Seriously something falls down my shirt once a day. It’s like normal now!
Champ still moves around lots, and I love it! It brings a smile to my face every time I feel him!
I have been feeling pretty good with the exception of yesterday. I took a half day, and believe me I don’t call in sick or go home sick very often, I mean like its super rare, but my body was telling me that I needed to lay down and put my feet up and chill, so as I said to my mommy, I put myself on bed rest yesterday! I feel better today, but like Joe said, I’ve been such a trooper and I do so much that I need to slow down, so slow down I shall. And I don’t know if he felt bad for me or was just trying to cheer me up but he took me to the Olive Garden last night for dinner. It was yummy. He is such a good husband. He has genuinely changed since the New Year. His friends say that he is being a kiss-ass but he’s really not. And he needs to give himself more credit because he really is a great husband. I’m very lucky to share life with him.

He truly makes me happy just by being Joe.

Plus...who else is going to tattoo me on their body!
Just kidding, but here is Joe's finished tat. I think he just needs one more "touch up" session and he is finished for good!
And as Joe would say "I love you so much that I tattooed you on my body!"

These crazy hormones

My sister for some odd reason couldn’t stand me when she was pregnant with her third. And I of course never understood why, and then I became pregnant. I now have a select few people who I cannot stand since I’ve been pregnant, which is funny because I’m a genuinely nice person, and I’ve been even nicer since I’ve been pregnant. But … they drive me absolutely insane. Sadly I work with them and have to be in the same freaking building with them for 7-8 hours a day. One tries way too hard and is overly corny. There is just something about her trying to be perky asking me if I’m “awake”. Well of course I’m awake you stupid woman, I just don’t want to see your face. Okay, well I know I’m a little harsh but that’s just how I feel about her. The other on the other hand, has an attitude problem and needs to learn how to act her age. She bi*ch** and complains about everything and in my opinion she acts like her you know what doesn’t stink. I can’t even handle it. Maybe it’s because she works in a completely different department now and has zero seniority these days. Or maybe she is just bitter because I’m now the “go to” girl, or maybe it’s because I got employee of the month for the 2nd time…that’s right, it’s because I rock! All I know is that my pregnancy hormones are about ready to slug her in the face…ha-ha, not really, I could never do that to someone. But it’s awfully nice to think about right now! Needless to say today has dragged on for WAY TO LONG. End Vent :)

So 26 weeks now! Wow. June is just around the corner and believe it or not we are so not ready! But we will be by then…I hope!
Our little Champ moves ALL the time now! Like I said before, Champ likes wiggling around on Saturday and Sunday mornings to get my butt out of bed! He was moving or kicking or punching or whatever so much on Sunday morning that I saw it on my belly. Not going to lie, it was kind of weird! And of course it was cool and super exciting! So after that I had Joe roll around and put his hand on my belly, and what does Champ do…he stops of course. The little dude can be squirming and movin’ away until Joe puts his hand on my belly, and then he stops like he knows its Joe’s hand. Joe thinks it’s because Champ knows it’s his Daddy and he has to behave for his Daddy! Oh God love him
!

I don’t think I’ve gotten much bigger in the last couple weeks, and I still feel great! Since the weather has been super nice out lately we’ve still been taking our walks on the trail. I swear we walked over 5 miles last week, and went every day this last weekend. We love it, and we know the dogs do too! But right when we get home my feet go up! I’m fine while we are walking but as soon as we get home, I’m spent! But I feel good knowing that I got my butt up and did something. Sleeping has started to become quiet uncomfortable. I fall asleep on one side and then that leg goes to sleep so I maneuver (yes maneuver, not roll because rolling is not the same as it used to be!) to the other side and sleep on that side until that leg falls asleep and so on. I know I’m more comfortable on my back but the doctor said no sleeping on your back, either side is fine. I’m also freaking hot at night. We had the air conditioner on and the fan on last night and I still kicked the blankets off. Our bed is like an oven with all the body heat in it between me and Joe and the dogs, not to mention the pillows that I use…its pretty cramped these days! My pregnancy is going so great that really I have nothing else to say about it. My baby update says that he is about 14 inches long and weighs about a pound and two-thirds. Last week it said that he has hair color and texture! I can’t wait to see what he looks like.

I got a little emotional yesterday because a whole lot of my shirts didn’t fit. I mean it was no surprise, I knew I wouldn’t be able to wear ALL of my tops throughout my pregnancy but it just kind of hit me on Sunday when I wanted to wear a cute springy top and hello it didn’t fit. I have some maternity things, mostly dresses because I love wearing dresses and I have two maternity shirts and I bought two super cute tops from my jean party that you would think were maternity but they are not. Needless to say I was pretty bummed because I’ve NEVER had my clothes just not fit me anymore. So we went shopping! We just went to American Eagle, but I bought 2 new camis, 2 shirts and two new dresses. I told Joe I don’t want to invest too much in maternity clothes because I’d rather get clothes that I can wear after I’m pregnant too. I managed to find shirts that cover my belly and will still cover my belly as it grows. And I just bought a medium instead of a small. I was stoked! I love getting new clothes!

And how super cute is this car seat and stroller...

I love the giraff print on it!

And I so kindly hinted to my parents that it would be a great gift idea for their new grandson! We'll see if they get the hint!

24 weeks

So I had a doctor’s appointment last Thursday and everything is gravy baby! And that’s so good to hear (although that isn’t how the doctors states it). It was the norm…peed in a cup (which I might add that peeing in a cup is getting harder and harder to do with a baby bump), got my blood pressure checked, stepped on a scale, sat on a table, made fun of Joe, got my tummy measured and heard Champ’s heartbeat. I LOVE hearing his heartbeat. And it’s so nice that it’s so much easier to hear nowadays! Weight gain is pretty good. In early December it went down some, then up a wee bit, then up a tad more, so based off of my pre-pregnancy weight I’ve technically only gained 3 lbs. I’ve got to stop thinking about it like that though…it’s not like I’m watching my figure! And hell, I eat ALL the time, and trust me I’m not ordering the salad on the menu! Joe also asked the doctor when I should take my belly ring/stud out and the doctor said “now” so I did and when I did my belly button officially went from an innie to… not an innie!

Besides all of that, Joe finally felt our little guy move this weekend. I feel Champ move so much more these days, and I’ve noticed that he goes nuts when I’m laying in bed on Saturday mornings! Maybe it is his way of getting my butt out of bed. And so far I’ve noticed he is more active in the morning and in the evening. AND when I’m in the car he moves around depending on what music is on. And speaking of music, I went to the Rascal Flatts concert with my friend Chelsey and it was like a party in my belly! Not so much during Jessica Simpson but boy was he active during Rascal Flatts! And oh my…eating boneless buffalo wings (my fav) at Applebees then walking to the ESA then walking up a ton of stairs is NOT fun and it equals crazy heartburn!

So we’ve picked out Champs furniture. We are saving like $300.00 just by getting it from walmart.com compared to BabysRUs.
Now I just have to actually order the stuff.

I’m also pretty stoked that my family is going to be throwing US a baby shower in April in Idaho. Woo!

So what a whole lot of rambling I’ve been doing! I was pleased to read the other day that the baby is becoming familiar with everyday sounds around me, like well ME of course and Joe and Diesel barking. I think that is just great because our stinking dog barks all the damn time so that will be good to know that it won’t be too alarming when we bring Champ home and Diesel barks in excitement to see me. Speaking of dogs, they are uber protective. Diesel hates it when Joe gets too close to me. She barks when we hug (yes super annoying) and Lola thinks that she has to be near me ALL the time. And when I’m on the couch she has to protect the little guy!
