So did I mention that I’m 35 weeks? Only less than 4 weeks until my due date. Holy cow batman!
So going off of what else is new in our lives since the weekend of April 25th!...
We found a house to live in. I would like to say that we are buying but we aren’t and we are completely okay with that, so don’t judge. Everything kind of happened so quickly with getting pregnant and our lease being up that we needed to be sure that we had a place lined up to bring Champ home to. We are excited. It’s super nice and pretty big, and our land-lords rock & we will buy when we are good and ready to buy.
Now that I’ve gotten that off of my chest…
We are really hoping Champ will stay in his water balloon until at least the second week of June. We are moving the first week, and as much as I love Joe and Cory, I don’t trust them to pack. Boys just can’t pack! Well at least not Joe.
Mother’s Day was a couple Sundays ago. And I was really, really homesick, not to mention physically and emotionally tired. The night before I slept like crap and didn’t really go to sleep until 4 in the morning because my back hurt so bad. That sucked like a leech on your leg! So Joe bought some Tylenol and I finally broke down and took some. That day (like every year!) we went to Spanish Fork to the God Parent’s house. They always have a BBQ that day and Kathy planned another baby shower for us. We got lots more awesome presents that once again we are super grateful for. To add to the “Champ” collection, Kathy got us these cute little socks and they say “Champ” on them. Now it’s like a fun thing to find things that say “Champ” on them, and come on, how can you not buy the stuff?! Our friend Chelsey bought us a little outfit and it says “Champ” on the butt…so cute. We found a blanket that says “Daddy’s Champ” on it and hello of course I bought that, and these little shoes that say “Champ” and Joe said we had to get them, so of course they’ve been added to the collection! Even though it’s fun to find stuff like that, I’m pretty sure we’re done! You can only have so many things with your name on it until you become weird, or become weird parents!
Anyway, when we got to Kathy & Gayle’s house we were super duper surprised to see Stacy here from Japan, who by the way has made my new favorite game to play Mexican Train Dominos. I fully intend on buying that game before I go into labor and I fully intend on taking it to the hospital with us for that slow labor everyone keeps telling me about.
So pregnancy at 35 weeks… I love being pregnant. People keep saying “I bet you’re anxious to get that baby out of you” and I look at them and say, “No not really, I like him in there and he’ll come out when he wants to.” It kind of shuts people up.
I don’t feel any bigger. The bottom of my tummy is kind of sensitive. It might be because I keep bumping it on the stupidest stuff. You don’t realize how big your belly actually grew from before you were pregnant until you can’t sit the same way at your desk at work. Sleeping hasn’t really been an issue for me. I do wake up to pee in the middle of the night, but I go right back to bed.
I get super exhausted easily. Packing is going to be a nightmare. I think that the dogs can sense that we are getting closer. Their whole attitudes changed recently. They are even more protective and neither one of them will leave my sight. If I’m on the couch they are either both sitting next to me or one next to me and one on the floor by my feet. If I’m in the kitchen they both lay there and watch me until I leave then of course follow me to where I’m going. I love our dogs and hopefully Champ will love them too.
I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow. It’s kind of crazy that I’m going to start seeing the doctor every week. Can’t believe we are already to that point. And we found out that Champ will be one of the last babies that our doctor will be delivering. He is retiring on June 30th, which is great for him, but it kind of bummed us out. We really like him.

Champ’s movements are lots harder nowadays. We definitely know where he is at in the belly. And I think it’s cool to just stare at my belly and just see him move. He has been a lot more active at bedtime these days and Joe loves it. He puts his hand on my belly when we go to bed and they poke each other back and forth, well Joe pokes and pushed on my belly and Champ either kicks or hits him back! It’s like their little playtime. I have a feeling that night time will be Daddy time! Or I can only hope!
You are so cute! I can't wait for you to have Champ! Good luck with moving and seriously don't hesitate to call me!
