24 weeks

So I had a doctor’s appointment last Thursday and everything is gravy baby! And that’s so good to hear (although that isn’t how the doctors states it). It was the norm…peed in a cup (which I might add that peeing in a cup is getting harder and harder to do with a baby bump), got my blood pressure checked, stepped on a scale, sat on a table, made fun of Joe, got my tummy measured and heard Champ’s heartbeat. I LOVE hearing his heartbeat. And it’s so nice that it’s so much easier to hear nowadays! Weight gain is pretty good. In early December it went down some, then up a wee bit, then up a tad more, so based off of my pre-pregnancy weight I’ve technically only gained 3 lbs. I’ve got to stop thinking about it like that though…it’s not like I’m watching my figure! And hell, I eat ALL the time, and trust me I’m not ordering the salad on the menu! Joe also asked the doctor when I should take my belly ring/stud out and the doctor said “now” so I did and when I did my belly button officially went from an innie to… not an innie!

Besides all of that, Joe finally felt our little guy move this weekend. I feel Champ move so much more these days, and I’ve noticed that he goes nuts when I’m laying in bed on Saturday mornings! Maybe it is his way of getting my butt out of bed. And so far I’ve noticed he is more active in the morning and in the evening. AND when I’m in the car he moves around depending on what music is on. And speaking of music, I went to the Rascal Flatts concert with my friend Chelsey and it was like a party in my belly! Not so much during Jessica Simpson but boy was he active during Rascal Flatts! And oh my…eating boneless buffalo wings (my fav) at Applebees then walking to the ESA then walking up a ton of stairs is NOT fun and it equals crazy heartburn!

So we’ve picked out Champs furniture.We are saving like $300.00 just by getting it from walmart.com compared to BabysRUs.
Now I just have to actually order the stuff.

I’m also pretty stoked that my family is going to be throwing US a baby shower in April in Idaho. Woo!

So what a whole lot of rambling I’ve been doing! I was pleased to read the other day that the baby is becoming familiar with everyday sounds around me, like well ME of course and Joe and Diesel barking. I think that is just great because our stinking dog barks all the damn time so that will be good to know that it won’t be too alarming when we bring Champ home and Diesel barks in excitement to see me. Speaking of dogs, they are uber protective. Diesel hates it when Joe gets too close to me. She barks when we hug (yes super annoying) and Lola thinks that she has to be near me ALL the time. And when I’m on the couch she has to protect the little guy!

Side Note

So, Joe has been super cute about me being pregnant and there is one thing that has stuck in my mind that he has said that just makes me laugh every time I think about it and I can never forget it and I just have to share it. We were getting ready to leave on day and we were both ready, but I forgot to go rub my “baby belly lube” (as I call it) on my belly, so I’m in the bedroom with my shirts up and putting lotion on my belly and he just stared at me with this “look” on his face. When I asked him what he was thinking he just chuckled and said nothing, which of course means that now I have to know and he has to tell so finally it came out and he proceeded to tell me that I’m a whole lot cuter pregnant than he thought I would be! How can you not laugh at that? I started cracking up and said “Thanks…I guess.” Then I proceeded with a “Wait a minute” and then asked him if he thought that I wouldn’t be cute pregnant, and of course he didn’t have an answer and then said “Well I wouldn’t have ever told you that if you weren’t”…cute that is.
Oh god love him!

Another great weekend with the Joe

So once again I had Joe home with me on Saturday! Yay. He hardly ever has Saturdays off, but now with a new year and a new schedule hopefully I shall be spending more weekends with him! And with the weather being so nice we’ve been taking the dogs on the trail for a nice l o n g walks. Its one of our favorite things to do and soon we’ll be adding a stroller to push along the way as well! On our walk on Saturday afternoon we stopped to take some goofy pictures, and what may be goofy to other people is completely normal to us! (see above!) We are such an odd couple, I just love it. Joe is super loud and talkative and I’m more quiet and reserved…sometimes! Right before we left for our walk, or maybe it was while we were walking, I just can’t remember these days, Joe kept looking behind me and then would look at the side of me and he did it like three times so finally I asked the man what the heck he was doing and he told me something along the lines of this in a playful voice…“You so don’t look pregnant from behind, but you do when you turn to the side!!” Well duh Joe!

After our walk we decided to go to the mall because Joe insisted that there way an FYE in the mall when I clearly told him there wasn’t but I stopped arguing because my favorite shoe store was in the mall we went to, and well I just can’t go to that mall without going in there, plus I really need some cute new black flats :) and although I didn’t get any new shoes, I didn’t get anything actually, we did have a nice mall lunch together, one of our other favorite things to do. Saturday is the best day to people watch. We always make fun of the little teenage girls who wear incredibly way too much make-up and wear too short of skirts then Joe always looks at me and tells me that “our daughter will never leave the house looking like that!” Oh God love him! And on Sunday we went to go see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which by the way is a fantastic movie. It was super long, but definitely worth it! And as we left the theater I was pretty excited that I wasn’t the one crying. Everyone else was, but it wasn’t me! Although I did cry during one part. I always have the HARDEST time with scenes in movies or t.v. shows where someone leaves for good, or they leave when they don’t want to but because they have to, because things like that bring me back to the day that Joe moved away… I’ve never cried so hard in my life, nor have I ever had my heart hurt so much. I distinctly remember telling my family that day that I was going to marry him someday! And it still gets me emotional just thinking about it.

And of course in Pregnancy Land, I’m 23 weeks and 2 days! I swear my belly gets bigger every day! I feel huge today! And my belly button is starting to pop out which completely freaks me out for some reason. I really should think about taking my belly button jewelry out…but then again…they make super cute “maternity” belly rings, and I’m temped to get one. And I’m not taking it out until I have my maternity pictures done, because it would just look silly with a whole on the top of my belly button. I still look in the mirror in amazement because my belly has grown straight out. Soon it is going to look like a basketball! And Champ was moving around a ton this weekend. I’ve noticed that about ten minutes after I eat something he is a wigglin’ away! And he is always moving when I’m sitting in the recliner. And on Friday night he kicked/hit/elbowed (whatever it was he did!) so hard that I saw it on the top of my belly. After that I insisted that I sit next to Joe with his hand on my belly, and although he was still moving around, Joe couldn’t feel it yet. Sad. I can’t wait until he does though. And leg cramps...oh those leg cramps. They pretty much suck, and I have them pretty much every night. I’ve noticed I’m weirdly emotional lately too. Last week I yelled, yes yelled, at some random tard while we were waiting for our dinner at the Wing Coop. Lets be honest, that guy was a rude, jackass. The guy just looked at me then looked at Joe and pretty much shut his mouth. Then after he walked out I started crying. And why I started crying…I have no clue!! It made for a good laugh later on though! And of course I have a drs appointment on Thursday. I wonder what the scale will say being that this is going to be the first time the scale will have gone up since I've been pregnant...I'll have to update again on Friday!

One more thing!

I bought this cute onesie online today! Joe's going to love it!

I must admit that I think it is super duper cool that our due date is the day before Father's Day. So if Champ comes on or before June 20th, Joe will have his first official Father's Day!

Good Ol’ Presidents Day

You know, having to work on these government holidays, as I like to call them, isn’t so bad. It is s-l-o-w in the office and will be all day long.

In pregnancy land… I am now 22 weeks and two days. My nails grow like weeds and are super strong, and my hair grows super fast. Its driving me nuts, but it’s the perfect time to grow it out and that’s what I intend to do, but we’ll see how long I can stick with that! I have heartburn more frequently and I’ve had legs cramps for the last 3-4 nights, and boy was Champ a movin’ yesterday! Which is actually funny because I had mentioned to Joe on Saturday that I wish I felt him move more often, and what do you know! I think that feeling our baby move inside of MY belly has got to be one of the coolest things ever. Sometimes I still can’t believe that I’m pregnant! It makes me laugh because back in the day I was the one in my group of friends that couldn’t wait to get married and have babies. Everyone else was all about having fun in college and joining a sorority and doing this and that and I’m sure they thought I was nuts, but in reality, two of the three got married before I did and all three of them either have two beautiful baby girls or have one with one on the way!! Believe it or not, Joe had to talk me into getting off of birth control, and believe it or not I’m really scared, but we’ll save that for a different blogging day!




Valentine’s Day was this last weekend and believe it or not Joe actually had that Saturday off. It was a very nice weekend I might add! I had a Jean party on Thursday which was totally fun. And because they made almost $700 and two people booked parties I got a free pair of jeans, and because I had a credit with them I also got two freaking cute new shirts and only spent $17.03, woot woot! Getting a pair of jeans that I would have paid $72 for, for free would start any girls weekend rockin'! On Friday we had dinner at a friends house and us girls did a little crafting! And on Saturday Joe and I met another couple at Happy Sumo for lunch. But I must say that I refuse to spend that much moola on sushi that isn’t even real sushi. (And for those who would like to give me shit or say something about my love for sushi while I’m pregnant…I’m not stupid. I don’t order the things that I would normally order, which means zero raw fish for me. And I only order things that we’ve talked to the dr. about, thank you very much. And since I’m on a little rant here, I had mentioned the other day at work that Joe had some wine the other night and that I had a sip of it and actually liked it. Then I got the “did you have a glass” and as I said no I then got the “WELL YOU KNOW…wine is really good for you and the baby and blah, blah, blah", and then I got a smirk. Mind you that this is coming from someone who doesn’t have kids. I have heard that a glass of wine occasionally is ok when you are pregnant but there is just something about consuming the slightest bit of alcohol when you have a growing baby inside you that just makes it seem wrong and makes you think why in the hell would anyone ever. Maybe she’ll understand one day when she has her own baby inside of her. I think it’s the protectiveness of motherhood coming out in me already!) Anyway, after lunch we went to go see Friday the 13th. And for those who don’t know, I LOVE scary movies. The Friday the 13th movies and the Halloween movies are among my most favorite. It wasn’t a silly re-make either. It was just like a modern day Jason movie. And once again I laugh because we saw this as our V-day date movie and on our honeymoon we went to go see Halloween. Back to the weekend…when Joe left to go take his run Sunday morning I started to make him breakfast and since it was the 15th I made his pancakes in the shapes of hearts! Joe and I have always done something cutesy and special on February 15th as well as V-day because February 15th has always marked the 5th month for us and it comes after Valentine’s Day! That being said, we’ve been married for 1 year and 5 months!! (and a day!)

So 20 weeks and 3 days today. Its amazing to me how a belly can grow so much in two weeks! So after work as I was getting out of my work clothes, I took off my sweater and Joe said "Woah your belly grew, time to take more pictures!!"
Boy do I love that guy! He is going to be such a good daddy!
